If you are talking about actors with good minds: Anthony Hopkins and Ray Liotta (of course known from Bee Movie), then it must of course be a good film!

As far as I'm concerned, Julia Stiles doesn't fit in that list; What a sore head he has...but it hasn't irritated me.

I think it is an exciting and fun film.

Nice, especially that old man's story about the 'lady of the woods'; loosely translated 'the sops fir'?

I also like Alexander Ludwig as Athony Hopkins' stuttering sidekick.

It turns out that there is some feeling in this boy, and it turns out that he is not just a stupid force.

I would have liked to see something more in the form of a link from the sidekick to the bad guy in the film.

I was hoping for something at the end that tied everything together.

But that was a bit omitted, unfortunately.

Bit of an easy ending...

Nevertheless, definitely worth watching!

Too easy.

Blackway is a thriller that really wants to have some atmosphere, but works a little too sloppily for that. We have seen these stories before, and it is somewhat strange that this film makes very little attempt to stand out from the rest.

For a director who has reasonable titles to his name, you cannot say that this film was mainly a sample of a director who wants to discover his talents. So it just turned out to be a somewhat tame project unfortunately.

Acting is still okay. It is a bit remarkable that Hopkins lends himself to this kind of thriller, but he does a creditable job. Ludwig, one of my favorite faces, also participates quite cheerfully. Stiles is okay too.

The film mainly wants to work on atmosphere, but is sometimes a bit too clumsy to really have atmosphere. The environment is well chosen, but unfortunately not enough is done with it. There are too few well-shot images, the soundtrack is a bit too tame and the tension is never really present.

Fortunately it isn't very boring. Alfredson does make enough happen, but the film could have been a bit tougher in this area too. For the rest, it's a bit of a mystery why exactly Mr. Blackway is such a cruel (and stupid) character. Standing so "high" in the world but then chasing after the characters with only 1 man is a bit too unbelievable.

Fortunately, the film is not too long, but it could have been a bit more interesting and impressive. There is simply not enough on board, especially in terms of atmosphere.

Once again an unparalleled role from Hopkins, who has a past that gradually emerges, also in relation to the bad guy in this film. Easily looks away. The past and present shots are well integrated. Final shot is great.
