"France's answer to the Italian job"
Japan's defense minister is visiting France. He is on a special mission to invest in French counter-terrorism expertise on behalf of his country. At the end of his visit, he will sign a contract worth many trillions of dollars. During his visit, however, he is kidnapped by a group of Japanese yakuza. Police officer Emilien wants to get the minister released at all costs in order to save the honor of his police station. But time is running out, because no one should know that the Japanese minister has disappeared.

Watched this again and it was a nice no-brainer video. Lots of action, humor and luckily the same cast again. For the rest, he quickly looks away and time flies by. A good sequel.

Nice. That French gets on my nerves but the humor is pretty good, luckily there is a lot of self-mockery in it (which makes it fun for me as a Dutchman).
It is at times quite vague and somehow it reminds me of a Dutch film but with better humor and better effects.
Have seen much better work by Luc Benson but was very entertaining.

The film lacks the freshness of the first part, but has the necessary humor that still works. The focus is less on the relationship Daniel and Emilien and that is a shame. Besson manages to keep the same tone with even the same running gags. It links here a bit more to Louis de Funès with moments when the army comes in. Fortunately, the car scenes are still worth the effort.
And 15 years before Furious 7, it's only Taxi 2 that has a car parachuted out of an airplane. You can see where the F&F franchise gets its inspiration from!
