The last part of the series, at least that's what the title suggests. But since this is such a horribly bad movie, it couldn't end with this.

No idea what this part adds. It is no longer horror at all and it is also very disappointing in the comic area. An attempt is made to create more humor, which occasionally succeeds, but usually not. Freddy is really portrayed in a laughable way this time. Like a dork and not the creepy killer he should be. The moment he sat on the broomstick, really hit everything.

In terms of horror, humor and story technically, the low point of the series is reached here. It is not exciting, but in terms of entertainment it also has very little to offer. I'm curious if Craven himself knows how to bring it to a good end.

With this 6th part they planned to pull the plug on the franchise. In the end, this turned out not to be the case at all.

For New Line Cinema, this was the first film to be shot in 3D. Peter Jackson was hired to write a screenplay. This was ultimately not used. The script of Michael Almereyda was also wiped off the table. This would originally link to A Nightmare on Elm Street: The Dream Child (1989). Rachel Talalay was dissatisfied, and finally decided to get this job done with Michael De Luca. She herself took a seat in the director's chair. She became the only female director in the entire franchise. According to sources, she received support from Aron Warner after she became temporarily ill.

The cast was again mediocre. The best known was of course Robert Englund. Lisa Wilcox disappeared without explanation, and new characters made their appearance. Actor Breckin Meyer made his first feature film, having previously only appeared in TV series and TV movies. Transvestite artist Divine was also to play a short role, but unfortunately passed away on March 7, 1988. Cameos have been made for Johnny Depp, Alice Cooper, Roseanne Barr, Tom Arnold and Robert Shaye.

A little more humor was added in this version. The horror remains moderate, and the success gradually weakened after part 4. Yet Robert Englund appeared 2 more times as Freddy Krueger in New Nightmare (1994) and Freddy vs. Jason (2003). Finally, the mediocre remake was released in 2010 under the title: A Nightmare on Elm Street (2010). This 6th part was nominated 4 times.

What an incredibly bad and worthless movie this is. I have hardly seen them that bad and that too for a Nightmare On Elm Street movie. Unbelievable what a bullshit movie. Who comes up with something like that...

I still have one more to go from my blu-ray box and then it has been really nice with the NOES films. Fortunately, it seems to be slightly better, also when Craven himself comes around the corner. 0.5 for this rubbish.
