The Night Caller plot

Tony Conroy is a lonely taxi driver. At the time he was a respected science teacher but he lost his job, his confidence and his wife. His only refuge is cafe waitress Rosa, to whom he feels increasingly close, and a late-night radio host named Lawrence, whom he listens to at night as he ferries passengers around the city. One day, Tony works up the courage to call Lawrence on air and soon becomes a "friend of the show" - for the first time in years he feels heard. But over time, he begins to interpret Lawrence's "worldview" in dangerous ways.
