De Kleedkamer plot

In each episode, Ruben Van Gucht returns with four football players or cyclists to the dressing room of the club where they caused a furore at the time, or to another location that played a decisive role in the success of the time. The dressing room conversations are supplemented with portraits of two other teammates. How have the football heroes or cycling heroes fared since then?

De Kleedkamer season 4

Nice series. Like Extra Time Koers, this series is presented/chaired by Ruben Van Gucht, but here his role is somewhat more limited and he mainly allows his guests/interviewees to speak, which benefits the program. The strong stories about the race (but just as often off-course!) are very interesting, and sometimes also poignant. The older guests in particular know how to dig up stories, taken from life, that are full of sadness.

On the other hand, people naturally talk about the race, and you notice that those men really do have a view on it. The ex-riders that Van Gucht started to interview were also well chosen; each and every one of them special characters, and what strikes me is that many are still cycling fanatically. The love for the sport is clearly felt.

Initially this series contained episodes about football, if I'm not mistaken (hence the title of the program), but as far as I'm concerned one can just continue with cycling, in which I see more heroics and tragedy, and to be honest, it is just more my sport.
