Star Trek: Discovery plot

Star Trek: Discovery takes place ten years before the adventures of Captain Kirk and Spock, in the 'regular timeline'. The series follows the crew of the USS Discovery as they discover new worlds and populations. They encounter a cold war between their United Federation of Planets and the newly formed Klingon Empire. The commander of the USS Discovery is Lieutenant Commander Michael Burnham, better known as 'Number One'.

"Captain on the Bridge." Saru straalt ontiegelijk veel rust uit. Wordt er gewoon zelf kalm van. Tilly weet altijd een glimlach op mijn gezicht te toveren. Dat kind barst van de energie. Niet normaal. En zo kan ik nog wel meer crewmembers de hemel in prijzen. Een missie van niks om het zo maar even te zeggen. S2: sterk seizoen hoor! Nice! Echt nice! Verhaallijnen zijn spannend en zitten vol met actie. Wat een spektakel. Kan niet wachten totdat het derde seizoen van start gaat. ****

Saru radiates a lot of calm. Just calm yourself down. Tilly always knows how to put a smile on my face. That kid is bursting with energy. Not normal. And so I can praise even more crew members. A mission of nothing, so to speak. S2: strong season! Nice! Really nice! Storylines are exciting and action packed. What a spectacle. Can't wait for the third season to start.

Godsamme nog steeds die Tilly... Een gemiste kans, ze acteert waardeloos en heeft een verschrikkelijk irritante rol. Tevens stoor ik me aan het feit dat de regisseur een robot lijkt te zijn, er zijn bulten karakters die geen diepgang hebben en die weg worden geschreven zonder er naar om te kijken. Crew members die sterven waar geen aandacht aan besteed wordt, best slecht als je er op let. Dat waren mijn negatieve noten mbt de serie. Positief is dat ze me elke aflevering weer weten te verrassen met een goed lopend en spannend verhaal dat alle kanten opgaat maar telkens klopt. Vlot en erg vermakelijk! Dat weegt zwaarder dan de minpunten hierboven.

Damn, still that Tilly... A missed opportunity, she acts worthless and has a terribly annoying role.

I also resent the fact that the director seems to be a robot, there are lumps of characters that have no depth and are written away without looking at them. Crew members who die without attention, pretty bad if you pay attention.

Those were my negative notes about the series. On the positive side, they manage to surprise me every episode with a well-running and exciting story that goes in all directions but is always right. Smooth and very entertaining! That outweighs the negatives above.
