Project Rembrandt plot
The program, named after Rembrandt van Rijn, is an artist competition in search of up-and-coming talent in painting. In the first episode, ten talents were selected from fifty candidates who may develop under the direction of artist Iris Frederix or designer Jaap Godrie. Candidates are eliminated every episode. The jury consists of Pieter Roelofs, head of Painting and Sculpture at the Rijksmuseum, and artist Lita Cabellut. Each episode is supplemented by guest jury members such as André van Duin, Heleen van Royen, Robert Kranenborg and Louis van Gaal.
