Castle Rock plot
The Castle Rock anthology series brings together many characters and themes from Stephen King's books. Each episode focuses on a world from a well-known author's story. Henry Deaver receives a message, prompting him to return to Castle Rock for the first time since his father's death. Horrible things happen there, in Shawshank prison, among other places.

As a big fan of King, I have all his books and films, I was naturally very curious about this series. What a setback it was. Lots of characters and references to and from King's books, but the first season doesn't suffice. Acting fine, what a relief to see Spacek act again, but the script is too vague to remain compelling. Season two seems to be better. 3*

Enjoyable, but the partly fascinating mystery eventually leads to a rather vague denouement that leaves too many questions to the viewer and you eventually get a bit of a "Lost" feeling. Excellent actors and a nice atmosphere, but it still manages to touch too little.
