Just watched the last episode and honestly don't know what to think of this season 
The initially interesting theme around the 'lost colony Roanoke' is unfortunately poorly developed. In addition, it is difficult to get in touch with the characters, especially the second part of the season. I never had any problems with this in the other seasons, so that's a letdown. Of course it doesn't really help if you know in advance that almost all of them will be finished 
Maybe that's why I didn't like this season as much. Not because everyone dies, but mainly because everything was so predictable. In fact the same story repeats itself over and over: with the original characters and actors, the students... The latter had no added value at all except for some video footage shown in the last episode. At that point the story was already so trite that I was looking forward to the end. And then we're not talking about the 'spirit chasers' for which unfortunately there is also no nice fate
What does rise above the others in this season is the horror. While in the first season it was often about the mystery and suspense, in this season it is much more explicit. I already noticed this in 'Hotel' but in 'Roanoke' the gore is very present and sometimes sickly. At many times it's also just a slasher series you're watching. But one kill after the other, I didn't have to.
I thought the last episode was a bit better but in general I have to conclude that I expected more from it. Season 2: 'Asylum' remains my favorite

For the first time in ages that I wanted to watch an American Horror Story season completely. Normally I stop halfway through the season and watch it again later, but this time I was able to watch as many as six episodes in a weekend.
The series suffered a lot from the fact that it got monotonous and that it seemed like the writers didn't know where the stories were going. This time the storyline and camera work had changed drastically and there was a clear beginning and end. The actors also seemed a little less forced in the stories, although there were a lot of them. Adina Porter was a nice addition.
The mid-season flip was a nice idea, but I ended up enjoying the first half more. The second half was over the top and therefore more of a comedy than a horror series. I can also hear the voice of Gooding Jr. don't take it seriously when he starts yelling 
And why didn't we see Lady Gaga again? Would have liked to see her in the acting club too.
Curious what they will come up with next season: 3.5* for a surprisingly fun season.

Happy sixth season of AHS. The story itself is not very original (indebted to many other horror productions, which the makers do not hide in any way), I found the development very creative, and the horror and violence are more explicit than ever.
Strong acting performance again, Cuba Gooding Jr. is indeed a valuable addition to the cast. Sarah Paulson overacts, but very consciously (great nod to many a slasher) and I could tolerate that. Kathy Bates once again steals the show, what great character roles she always plays.
I found the first 5 episodes stronger than the last 5, and the finale in particular seemed more like an appendix to me than a "real" finale - a shortcoming that Murphy and Falchuk have exhibited in previous seasons.
But the balance is mostly positive, I've been looking forward to this season with great pleasure (and sometimes a bit of nausea)!
