Goosebumps plot
Goosebumps takes place in a strange reality, where nothing is as it seems. Normal children are trapped in this world and exposed to the strange happenings this world has to offer. This series did indeed have something, while as a ten or eleven-year-old I already saw what a weak camp it actually was. Although I actually liked the Australian series 'Round the Twist' better, because it was less slick (and could therefore become really scary and mysterious at times.) You can hardly call 'Goosebumps' horror, but it knew almost every episode to create a nice atmosphere, with nice winks to well-known horror classics. It was only with the recent film adaptation (2015) that I noticed that the franchise evoked more nostalgia in me than I thought.
