Unfortunately, things still don't quite click between me and Game of Thrones. Because the characters are all well portrayed, the series remains unpredictable and enough interesting things happen in a season, I keep following the series. That said, I sometimes struggle with the lengthy dialogues. Some of it is interesting and the other part doesn't always hold my attention. What surprised me was how well Sam's story held up. I really liked that character more this season. The developments surrounding Tyrion Lannister, Jon Snow and Daenerys Targaryen also remain effortlessly fascinating.

I was really done with the endless torture of Theon at some point, as was the youngest Stark girl who gets herself into trouble over and over again. The infamous ninth episode also didn't quite get through to me. I appreciate that such daring choices are made, but I found the much acclaimed climax a bit bland rather than watching it open-mouthed. The series has not yet managed to completely immerse me in the world. I think this is a step backwards from the previous season. In general it remains entertaining, but the tempo could really go up a bit in my opinion.
