Wasn't blown away by the first season, but this second season - despite being shortened from 10 to 7 episodes - was a lot more enjoyable. Perhaps because there is less unnecessary filling, but the season flew by; partly due to the excellent editing (quite a few years are covered) and appropriate music. Episode 2.05 was mainly excellent; If I turn to Wiki to find out all the details, you've got me.
Too bad the plug is out; this really needed 1 more season to honor the series title.

A somewhat shorter season but better than the first. Here it becomes more interesting because of conflicts with coach Paul Westhead. He wants to push the team too much into a system and Magic can only really shine when less predictable and more adaptive play is played. Many (particularly large) egos are damaged and you see how small greats can be. Every character clearly has its flaws.
There is plenty of great music to be heard throughout the series. I discovered a few older and newer hip hop gems:
-The World Famous Supreme Team - Hey DJ
-Kurupt - Kurupt'n Los Angeles
and of course the track in the opening credits of The Coup, My Favorite Mutiny.
All in all very tasty again. And what better way to end than a confrontation in the finals of 1982 with "the hick from French Lick", Larry Bird, not quite the bad guy of the series. Later Magic and Larry would become friends, but Magic hated him then. Unfortunately the series never went further than this final. How the dynasty of the Lakers was continued is quickly told at the end. I thought that was a shame and that speaks for the series.
