Unspeakable plot

In the 1980s, Canada was home to the contaminated blood scandal, with HIV and Hepatitis C on the rise. Thousands of people were accidentally infected and it became one of the biggest medical disasters in the country's history. This series looks at what happened, largely through the eyes of two families. Will and Margaret Sanders, a public health officer and a teacher respectively, and their son Ryan, live in Toronto. He has haemophilia and needs regular new blood. Ben and Alice Landry live in Vancouver. Their son Peter also has haemophilia. Then it happens one day that both are given infected blood.
