Trom plot
Journalist Hannis Martinsson receives an unexpected message from Sonja, an animal rights and environmental activist. She claims that she is his daughter and that her life is in danger. When Hannis travels to the Faroe Islands to investigate Sonja's sudden disappearance, he finds her body during a local whaling hunt. His search for answers soon brings him into conflict with the local police. He uncovers a web of secrets in the tight-knit community, but how far is he willing to go to uncover the truth?

What a topper this is. To start with the ending: with that fat cliffhanger, a second season is inevitable. Fascinating plot in this first season that is again well portrayed by a few well-known and excellent actors. They don't even have to open their mouths to convey a certain feeling. Filmed in a beautiful environment. Four and a half hours of excellent entertainment with this first season.

Nice six-part Danish thriller about the disappearance of an environmental activist. The landscape of the Faroe Islands plays the overwhelming leading role in Trom. The tormented and introverted characters seamlessly reflect the gray clouds and black rocks. Although the series starts excellently, Trom cannot completely escape mediocrity, partly due to the varying acting. There is plenty to enjoy for fans of Nordic Noir.
