The Forsyte Saga plot

The Forsyte Saga is the story of the wealthy and arrogant Forsyte family, whose thick layer of gold and good manners, misfortune and drama predominate. An excellent example is the marriage between Soames Forsyte and the impecunious Irene Heron. He is Victorian: arrogant, prudish and selfish. She is beautiful, modern and silently suffers from her troubled marriage. She plunges into an affair with the handsome architect Philip Bosinney, who is killed when Irene tries to run off with him.
