Melodrama from the hell of the Wild West
The six-part The English was written by Hugo Blick (Black Earth Rising) and you could call it an ode to the westerns of Sergio Leone. Not only is the soundtrack related, there are also cinematic references. For example, the series was filmed in Spain.
