It gets less every season. In this season they seem to be mainly inspired by zombie movies and by The Terminator. Especially the first has an influence on the tension. Often, the less often a threat is actually visible, the more dangerous it feels. Zombies are often a bit more visible and even though the creatures in this season are not actually zombies, something similar happens here which does not benefit the tension.

The closet is all a bit older and less cute and that doesn't help either. It is nice that Erica, Lucas' sister, has a more prominent role. Of course a very annoying child, but I can laugh about it. What's less fun is the horrible song that comes along in the last episode. Really horrible and if you think about it it also cost Hopper his life, because he was interrupted by the "Terminator" just as he was about to blow the place up; he'd only needed one extra second, and that song, of course, cost a lot more.

By the way, I'm betting that he not is actually dead. We didn't see a body, so under the movie laws, he's not actually dead, and the final scenes talk about an American in captivity by the Russians, who obviously made contact with the Upside Down elsewhere, so my guess is he's fled into the Upside Down just before the explosion and was later caught by the Russians.

We'll see during the inevitable next season. As far as I'm concerned, that can get better than this, otherwise I'll really give up. 2*.

The USS Butterscotch, you've got to try it! It's out of this WORLD!

Stranger Things' intro still gives me goosebumps to this day! Lovely eighties sound! S3: I got through it at a fast pace. After the somewhat disappointing 2nd season I'm a bit happy again ---> (RIP Hopper? Shit man!!! Really shit!!!). The extremely strong cast of Stranger Things rocks like crazy. Action, drama, humor, fireworks and good music ect ect. Everything, absolutely everything, has been pulled out of the closet to make season 3 a success. Mission accomplished! Last episode is going out of the year with a bang. The NeverEnding Story scene: epic! I was just swinging along.

Stranger Things season 3: yummy yummy yummy!

Just a nice provisional conclusion before the Covid pandemic threw a spanner in the works of the fourth season.

A lot has changed in Season 3. Friends Mike, Lucas, Dustin, Will and Eleven are going through puberty. Hopper takes custody of Eleven and a brash brother and younger sister arrive, and Mike has finally let his heart speak for Eleven... at the expense of Hopper who disagrees.

The play has given way to the love affairs, competition arises... and then the characters also have to deal with a very unimaginable enemy. Namely the Mindflayer... a giant nasty monster that will work on all your phobias. Are you afraid of spiders, tentacles or slippery scales? Then wet your chest.

In addition to the youthful experiments, the friends, often with the help of the older characters, have to get back to work. Let that synthesize tune play because now it's serious.

Central to this series is the lab, where these evil creatures are created. By the Russians. By the way, is it true that you can see those monsters as nothing anymore as a metaphor for the fear that existed at the time before the bomb fell?

Towards the end it becomes a true and thrilling sensation indeed. In fact... It's really going to be a macabre and fucked up mess.

But... The epilogue is so beautiful! And there's another surprising after credits...

It already seemed very difficult in 2019 to miss the characters of Stranger Things. I welcome them again next week.

But it may be closed after the fifth season.
