The final season of Stranger Things will be without one popular character from season four - Argyle.
In season four, Argyle, played by Eduardo Franco, is introduced as a friend of Jonathan's who works as a pizza delivery driver for Surfer Boy. He rescues Jonathan, Will, Mike, and Agent Harmon after they are attacked by military soldiers.
He then drives the crew around on a quest to help Eleven.
But, according to Franco himself, Argyle is out of the picture for season five.
“It’s nice to hear that there’s, there’s some sort of, you know, concern or something, you know what I mean?" he said on the Steve Varley show after a cast photo emerged that didn't include him.
"But I’ve never, I never got a phone call. So I think, yeah, I think that’s it.”
Bob isn't returning in Stranger Things either
Due to the fantasy elements of Stranger Things, it is always possible that characters thought to be deceased might actually make a return.
Over the first four seasons, various beloved characters died including Billy Hargrove, Barbara Holland, Bob Newby and Eddie Munson.
The door is always open for a return in something like a flashback or a dream sequence, but Sean Astin, who played Bob, insists Joyce's former man won't be back.
"Fans would say, 'Are you gonna be in 'Stranger Things',' and I would say, 'No, I'm dead.'" he said at LA Comic-Con
"But why couldn't they do a flashback... to a happier time with (with Joyce) - I know why they won't. Because it's going to be Hopper and Joyce, and they're not going to want to flashback to a time when she was actually happy!"
At the conclusion of season two, Bob is mauled to death by Demodogs while helping Joyce and the Hellfire Club escape.
