Prime Suspect plot
The series is about the fictional London Police Service (Metropolitan Police Service) Detective Chief Inspector (DCI) Jane Tennison. All but one of the seasons are set in London. In season five, Tennison, who has since been promoted to Detective Superintendent, is working in Manchester. Set against the backdrop of unsolvable murder cases, the series shows her developing against the grain in a male-dominated profession.
