Paris Police 1900 plot
In the Paris of 1899, French President Felix Faure has just died and the country is weakened by anti-Semitic groups who are outraged at the possible release of Alfred Dreyfuss. Former police chief Louis Lepine is taken out of retirement to restore order. When the body of a woman is found in the Seine, the young, ambitious detective Antoine Jouinde gets his first murder case. Corrupt police officer Joseph Fiersi has a particular interest in the investigation. He hires Meg Steinheil, who is accused of killing the president during sex, as a spy.
