Most people interested in this subject have probably already seen the superior 'Dopesick'. Both pretty much cover the same aspects of the OxyContin epidemic but IMO the 2021 series does it better; the characters are better developed and there is more subtlety; here it all felt more superficial, partly because this series consists of 6 episodes compared to the 8 of the other version; which gives more room for all the overflowing storylines. In addition, the actors are just less (no offense), the cast is fine but not up to veterans such as Keaton, Dawson, Sarsgaard and Stuhlbarg.

If you don't have Disney+ and therefore can't access the 2021 series then this is an "acceptable" drama about the opioid crisis, but I can't think of any reason why you should watch it if you have a choice between the two (with the exception of of the people, like me, who watch everything of course).

Does indeed add nothing to the many documentaries that have already appeared about Oxycontin ....
