This series shows journalism as it should be. Reporters investigate, search for the truth, discuss conflicting points of view... Difficult subjects are not shunned: freedom of the press, fraud, medication, gambling and alcohol addiction, child abuse...

There is a good balance between field work and scenes in the editorial. There are conflicts in the workplace, but when it comes down to it, they conspire. Typewriters are giving way to large PCs. Car phones were time-bound technology. The regular cast is doing a great job. There are nice guest roles for Michael J. Fox, Ed Harris and Rae Dawn Chong, even before they became famous.

Some episodes stand out. Episode 12 is made in neonoir style. In episode 14 Charlie tries to put out a big fire with a silly sprinkler. In episode 20 they try to print a newspaper while the whole neighborhood is without electricity. Together with the first season, this is the best.
