Hotel Portofino plot
A British family opens the Hotel Portofino to upper class travelers on the magical Italian Riviera during the roaring 1920s. The hotel has only been open for a few weeks when it turns out that its guests, including Lady Latchmere, are demanding and hard to please. Bella Ainsworth, the co-owner and driving force behind the hotel, soon becomes the target of a cunning and corrupt local politician, Signor Danioni. This man threatens to drag her into the political maelstrom of Mussolini's Italy.
