His & Hers plot

Anna lives in the sweltering heat of Atlanta in eerie isolation, far from her friends and her career as a journalist. But when she hears about a murder in Dahlonega, the sleepy town where she grew up, Anna comes back to life. She dives into the case and searches for answers. Detective Jack Harper is strangely suspicious of her involvement and pursues her into the crosshairs of his own investigation.

Het verhaal is geniaal in elkaar gezet, hier en daar enkele dwaalsporen, maar met een knallende twist in de laatste aflevering. De uitvoering was ietsje minder; het lag er allemaal een beetje te dik op, voornamelijk kijkende naar de persoon Jack. Ook jammer dat Priya onderbelicht werd, zeker richting de afronding. Qua spanning en speelduur in ieder geval een prima miniserie.

The story is brilliantly constructed, with a few digressions here and there, but with a smashing twist in the final episode. The execution was a bit lacking; it was all a bit too obvious, especially when it came to Jack as a character. It's also a shame that Priya was underplayed, especially towards the end. In terms of suspense and running time, it's a perfectly good miniseries.

Ben het in grote lijnen eens met MiekiePou. Dit is geen kunst met de grote letter K, en de serie zit vol cliche's en is regelmatig totaal ongeloofwaardig, maar het is gewoon een serie om je verstand op nul te zetten en niet te ernstig te nemen. En inderdaad wat vele een sterk punt vinden, het acteerwerk van Bernthal, vond ik nu net niet zo bijzonder, ook enkele andere vond ik nu echt geen topacteurs. Ik heb het vandaag in één ruk uitgekeken, maar ik zit ook totaal niet te wachten op een tweede seizoen. Voldoende, maar absoluut geen topreeks.... Trouwens een prachtige soul versie van de song "I who have nothing", in de derde aflevering.... En ik had voor deze serie ook nog nooit van het woord Cozenage gehoord...

I generally agree with MiekiePou. This isn't art with a capital "A," and the series is full of clichés and often completely unbelievable, but it's simply a series to switch off your mind and not take too seriously.

And indeed, what many consider a strong point, Bernthal's acting, I didn't find all that special, and I also didn't think some of the other actors were top-notch.

I watched it all in one sitting today, but I'm not looking forward to a second season at all. It's decent, but definitely not a top-notch series...

By the way, a beautiful soul version of the song "I who have nothing", in the third episode....

And I had never heard of the word Cozenage before this series...

Ik heb enorm genoten van deze serie, maar dat komt vooral door het toch geweldige acteergeweld van de twee hoofdrolspelers. Ik vond dat ze toch een klein beetje de plank misslaan met het einde. Je wordt inderdaad constant op het verkeerde been gezet, waarvoor hulde. Maar van alle twists, vond ik de uiteindelijke het meest tegenvallen. Ze heeft dus die camera na het verschrikkelijke incident gewoon mee naar huis genomen, daarna nooit meer gebruikt en het bandje erin laten zitten? Kom op... en dan niet eens te spreken over Catherine Kelly die de volledige identiteit van haar zus heeft overgenomen? Wel erg toevallig dat ook zij zo gestoord was net als die andere drie meiden. Beetje vreemd, maar een geweldige serie om te kijken. Aanrader!

I really enjoyed this series, but that is mainly because of the fantastic acting of the two leads.

I thought they missed the mark a little bit with the ending. You're constantly being misled, and kudos for that. But of all the twists, I found the final one the most disappointing.

So she just took that camera home after the horrific incident, never used it again, and left the tape in it? Come on... And not to mention Catherine Kelly who took on her sister's entire identity? It's quite a coincidence that she was just as disturbed as the other three girls.

A bit odd, but a great series to watch. Highly recommended!
