Once again enjoyed the second season of Happy Valley. Very realistically, she could just be your neighbor. What she encounters in her police work is also very similar to reality. The various characters in the series are well represented. There is also good acting. In short, highly recommended. 4.5

The first two episodes of this second series sometimes feel a bit too busy and forced, but after that it's time to enjoy this sublime English police series again. Strong acting from the entire cast and exciting plot lines, which immediately follow on from the events in the first series. I could go on and on, but if that's what it's all about, that's fine too.

I also have my doubts about this season. Ann even literally pronounces it here: Catherine seems like god himself, even though she also makes mistakes (the ending, where she asks the detective how to approach him, comes across as a bad joke ). The drama here is heavy, especially with Ryan and his (non-)father. The other things (the detective being extorted, the mother and son on the farm) feel a bit forced into it. It's certainly not bad and the acting is good (Tommy Lee Royce and his admirer do become tiring roles at some point), so here too a tight enough score. Still curious what the next season will bring.
