Ella Schön, an aspiring lawyer from Frankfurt with Asperger's syndrome, inherits a house on Fischland on the Baltic Sea and meets her late husband's second wife, who led a double life. The whole situation overwhelms her, she wants to sell the house as soon as possible and go back to Frankfurt. But the second wife, Christina, has the right to live there for life. And she has two children and a third on the way. Ella seeks legal advice from Kollkamp, a lawyer from the island, and temporarily moves into the outbuilding of "her" house.
