Brilliant series. My favorite Flemish series. Beautiful drama from West Flanders (region where I come from) about a subject that interests me with a witty undertone. There is also a second season! So I'm totally hyped already.

Own Breeding is an Entertaining Belgian series. But really convincing that it is a top series, it did not. Entertaining indeed, like Frank, the eldest son of Jos, who had a Filipino woman come over at the suggestion of a fellow farmer. The confrontation between the other-worldly farmer's son and his 24-year-old wife resulted in the funniest moments.
Maaike Cafmeyer as Chantal is comical to watch. We know her mainly from the series Aspe in which she plays Carine Neels. Her statements in Own breeding regularly makes you laugh. The fumbling with English and Flemish mixed together is laughable.
Own breeding not a top series but certainly worth watching.
