'Code Black' is set in one of America's busiest and most infamous hospitals. The large influx of patients does not outweigh the limited resources available to the doctors and nurses whose job it is to treat everyone. This creates a situation known as 'Code Black'. At the heart of the chaos is director Dr. Leanne Rorish. Her four new freshmen nurses are Christa Lorenson, Malaya Pineda, Mario Savetti and Angus Leighton. Leanne's confidant, Jesse Sallander, is the amiable senior nurse. In addition, Dr. Neal Hudson and Dr. Rollie Guthrie there as doctors. Together they work day and night to help the overcrowded waiting rooms of people who are often only there for one or two reasons: to die or one for a life-saving miracle.
