Miniseries that just doesn't get out of the paint. Max would rather go through life as Maxine, and that puts the 12-year-old teenager in trouble not only himself but also his parents. And all other family members. And that is accompanied by Great Emotions, which at the same time never really touch. I thought it was a bit much of a good thing. Plenty of honest intentions, a sympathetic subject (half a star extra), Anna Friel (Marcella) is strong as always, but still... Small is sometimes better.
