On June 6, 1944, the Allies finally landed in Normandy to liberate the West. The end of World War II is in sight, but after the surprise of the D-Day landings and the advance of the Allies, Nazi loyalists dig in. They are determined to hold a merciless hold on the cities, strongholds and fortresses to defend the Third Reich. This documentary series tells the stories of desperate battles teetering on the brink of defeat. The Nazis fought not only to win, but also to survive.
