Ex-Gangster plot

Danny Vanhamel, a top gangster in the eighties, is sentenced to life in prison in 1994 for the kidnapping of 'Anthonyke', the eleven-year-old son of industrialist Jan De Clerck. In 2004 he is released early, he renounces crime and starts a new life. In Ex-Gangster Danny looks back on his life as a tough boy, on the robberies of the Securitas money transports, on the kidnapping, on the trial and on his sentence. Ex-gangster gives a unique look at one of the darkest periods for justice and police in Belgian history and searches for an answer to the question of how someone ends up in crime and whether you can ever get out of it.

Wat mij hier vooral voor de borst stoot is het gebrek aan tegengas dat gegeven wordt wanneer Vanhamel, toch echt een zware jongen vroeger, verteld over zijn strapatsen lijkt het wel alsof het de betere kwajongensstreken waren die hij uithaalde, dat hij gewapend mensen overviel die daar tot op de dag van vandaag vaak last van hebben lacht hij echt weg met de mantel der liefde. Die ontvoering van dat kind was ook eerder een accident de parcours en de andere waren vooral de agressors, hij was eigenlijk een man van goud. Hier had veel in gezeten maar door boven genoemde reden kan ik dit niet waarderen met 2,5* of meer.

What strikes me here above all is the lack of resistance that is given when Vanhamel, a really tough boy in the past, tells about his misadventures, it seems as if it were the better pranks he played, that he attacked people armed there who to this day often suffer from he really laughs away with the mantle of love. That kidnapping of that child was also more like an accident de race course and the others were mainly the aggressors, he was actually a man of gold.

There would have been a lot in this, but for the reason mentioned above, I can't rate this with 2.5 * or more.
