Dark Tourist (2018)

What a wonderful documentary series! This one had been on my watch list for a while, but had hardly noticed about it. To try it, I safely watched the 'United States' episodes first and I really liked it. The highlight of this series is the presenter: David Farrier. I didn't know the best man, but he knows how to give all subjects both content and humor. The perfect presenter for this program. The variety of subjects was fine. You really had horror elements, but also a lot of history and culture. I did find it unnecessary that a radiation area was visited twice.

I don't think it's 100% sure that there will be a season 2 yet, but I really hope so. For example, he could still visit Auschwitz and the Catacombs of Paris. And there must be hundreds of other prohibited, dangerous and controversial locations.

I also had a good time with this documentary series. I don't want to say that all topics are equally interesting, but every episode is certainly worth it. I find it difficult to pick one as a favorite, because every episode has something to offer. It's also nice that the focus doesn't linger in one place for too long, but that you don't have the feeling that you are being chased. The time spent on a subject is actually just right. David Farrier is also doing an excellent job. He is curious, interested, asks good questions and knows how to present unique finds with humor, without appearing disrespectful. Complimentable!

If there is a second season, it seems I'm not the only one hoping for it, I would start as soon as possible. The series has managed to captivate me effortlessly and I am very curious what other places he could visit.
