Unsolved (2018)

Unsolved investigates the murders of rappers Tupac Shakur and Christopher Wallace better known as Notorious BIG Following a $500 million claim filed by the Wallace family for negligence and possible involvement by the LAPD, a Federal Task Force is formed Founded under the direction of Detective Greg Kading (Josh Duhamel) to investigate the murders as the city goes bankrupt should the charge be true and the claim granted. He and his colleagues soon find out that they are venturing into a wasp's nest and are both friend and foe of the two Rappers as well as the LAPD in this case. The series knows how to capture the brooding and especially tense atmosphere that prevailed at the time, which was created because the Gang culture became too entrenched with the rap industry. Although Marcc Rose looks less like Tupac than Demetrius Shipp in All Eyez On Me, he does portray him better than Shipp. He has mastered Tupac's movements and gait perfectly and despite the fact that his voice doesn't sound like it, he has also taken over his characteristic energetic way of talking and even his characteristic voice inflections. Something that Shipp didn't have at all and that really spoiled the film for me because Tupac's voice and way of talking were his great strength. Both murders are still unsolved although the puzzle pieces are largely known, the smoking gun is missing, the piece that makes everything fall together. As a result, the murder of Tupac will probably always remain an enigma of life and that might suit an icon like Tupac. Biggie was just a good rapper in my opinion but not an icon like Tupac. He was less charismatic and enigmatic compared to Tupac.
