Tommy Beresford is a meticulous crime author suffering from severe writer's block. His passion for the craft is fully rekindled when the dazzling actress Tuppence Cowley suddenly reappears in his life. The ex-lovers run into each other by chance at a decadent, chic wedding party in London. The festivities turn abruptly into a nightmare when one of the wedding guests is found dead.
