Midsomer Murders plot

Midsomer County seems like a quiet and peaceful county in England, but nothing could be further from the truth. On a regular basis, DCI Tom Barnaby and his assistants are presented with horrific murders. Nothing is what it seems behind the facades of the oh-so-picturesque cottages and mansions, the sneaky writers and investment clubs or the sinister choirs. Heads are cut off, people are strangled, drowned or burned alive, pierced with a threatening object or pelted with their most precious possessions. Murder is out of love, hatred, revenge and jealousy, and in many cases the killer will stop at nothing.

It is always mysterious and sometimes it flirts with the supernatural.

Of course Barnaby knows what to do with this, although he sometimes receives support in the form of a coincidence or a tip from an unexpected source.

Indeed, nice to follow and actually very relaxing.

Before he became a detective, chief inspector, John Nettles was seen in a series "Bergerac" named after the French (wine) region. I saw several of them at the time. Less phlegmatic but younger and more acrobatic but always driven.
