Kaleidoscope plot

Master thief Leo Pap and his team undertake a complex robbery that is supposed to net seven billion dollars. However, betrayal, greed and other dangers undermine their plans. The eight episodes run from twenty-four years before the robbery to six months after, can be viewed independently and explicitly have no order. This interactive element allows the viewer to jump from moment to moment. The series is loosely based on the true story of a robbery where $70 million went missing during Hurricane Sandy in Manhattan.

The series is extremely mediocre. The heist and the intrigue behind it offer nothing new and have been done countless times before. The characters have little to no depth, except for Esposito's character. You almost all see the twists coming and not because something has been betrayed by an earlier episode, it's just predictable.

The random or non-random structure of the order in which you watch the series would not be a gimmick, but an added value. Well, Netflix's randomizer itself is very relative in shuffling through the series, as it ultimately mixes within small packets. You start with 1-2 (the first is always green or yellow, then always the other), then 3-4-5 and finally 6-7, and then you must end with 8 (white). In practice, the sequence remains largely pre-chewed and at most there is some shifting with flashback episodes. In short, a gimmick.
