Il Commissario Montalbano plot

The stubborn and melancholy commissaire Montalbano is a rather gruff man of forty with a passion for the delicious Sicilian cuisine. In the great tradition of detectives such as Maigret and Martin Beck, he also has idiosyncratic investigative methods. In Sicily, political settlements, mafia practices, heated discussions, murder and good food are fixed values in the detective work of detective Montalbano. He regularly finds himself in the necessary difficult situations while trying to solve cases.

My opinion concerns all 15 seasons.

Very nice series that mainly relies on the fantastic environment, the wonderful Italian atmosphere, some characteristic roles and the beautiful soundtrack. In terms of plots it varies quite a bit. Sometimes complex due to the many Italian names, so that at a certain point you can no longer see the forest for the trees. But there are also brilliantly put together stories. Unfortunately, also a few with a less well-developed ending. It never gets really exciting, but it does get romantic every now and then; Montalbano and Mimi, one of his colleagues, are serious womanizers. Humor is a recurring element, especially Catarella and "his door" take the cake. Too bad they needed 3 actresses for Lyvia. That stood out a little too much. All in all a very enjoyable series to watch.

The real fans can even spend the night in Montalbano's house from this series:
