I was really looking forward to the 5th season and I enjoyed it.
Although, compared to the previous seasons, I found the story a bit "messy", a bit of a piecemeal affair, and I found the flashback to the very distant past a bit far-fetched.
I know Jon Hamm from Mad Man, he played his role brilliantly there too, and the mother-in-law was also good at it, just not "over the top" but just on the edge. Wonderful series, I will soon sit down for another season 1,2,3 and 4......

Not really mad about this season. The strength of Fargo in the first three seasons lay in the well-thought-out screenplay and the strong characters who all came out well. The female characters were all sensible and well spoken. In this season the story means nothing at all and the women, there are more of them than ever, are especially annoying. They curse like boat workers and beat up an entire army. It's not convincing. The male characters can't make a dent in a pack of butter. The sheriff tries to appear tough and sometimes succeeds, but does not arouse any sympathy from the viewer. I remember epic scenes from previous seasons, but here the best scenes were pretentious at best. Disappointing.
