Like Steve-O and Chris Pontius' Wildboyz, Viva La Bam was of course a wonderfully entertaining Jackass spin-off. A bit more scripted than the first one though. The show is actually stolen by Don Vito. Every scene/episode where he is prominently present is a joy. To a lesser extent, that also applies to father Phil.

'The Family Reunion' (where much of Bam's deranged family makes a cameo), April Gets Revenge, and Scavenger Hunt are the best things this season has to offer as far as I'm concerned. In season 1 a nice part also seems to have been done spontaneously and improvised. From season 4 it became disturbingly fake.

Like 'Wildboyz', 'Viva La Bam' didn't have the same chemistry as 'Jackass'. Here because it was indeed quite scripted and the stunts never went over the edge; it felt a little bland. The first seasons were quite nice, but at a certain point you knew the tune. I found the relationship between Bam and his uncle Don Vito and his father Phil touching. How he kept busy getting them off their binge eating and their other bad habits.
