At its core, the dramady Somebody Somewhere is about friendship. In this case about the friendship of singer Sam (Bridget Everett, also executive producer) with Joel (Jeff Hiller). Even more, Somebody Somewhere is about being free. Free in a society where there is no discrimination, racism or fat shaming. And where everyone respects each other. The series is set in Manhattan, in rural Texas, where Everett himself grew up. Somebody Somewhere is globally based on its own history.
