Oh, Doctor Beeching! plot
The early 1960s, somewhere in the English Midlands. The rural train station of Hatley is populated by a number of folk figures. There is the stationmaster Jack Skinner, who does not have too much faith in his young and beautiful wife May and who also has quite a few worries about his daughter Gloria and her friend Amy. In addition, there is the counter clerk Ethel Schumann, who has problems with her son Wilfred, and Harry Lambert, the signalman, who runs a barbershop in the signal box. The station is regularly visited by Blossom, one of the last steam locomotives, with Arnold the engineer, Ralph the stoker and Percy the conductor as permanent crew.
