Mapp and Lucia plot

Like every year, Miss Elizabeth Mapp rents out part of her beautiful house in the summer months. This summer Mrs. Emmeline Lucas will be living there. Not so long ago, Emmeline Lucas lost her husband. She sees her arrival in Tilling as the perfect opportunity to start over. Lucas, Lucia for close friends, takes her best friend Georgie Pillson with her because she can't live without him. Lucia, however, turns out to look very much like Mapp. She is vain and anything but insecure. There's a new it-girl in Tilling and Mapp feels threatened. She does everything she can to chase Lucia away from 'her' village, but it just doesn't work. Mapp threatens to lose everything she loves. Her social circle, big house and most importantly, her status. Tilling turns into a war zone with the two women doing everything they can to outdo each other. Who will be Tilling's new 'it-girl'?
