The second series of Het Eiland, the particularly strong comic series by Jan Eelen, cannot match the first season, but still offers more than enough goodies. Lukas Van den Eynde emerges as Bucky Laplasse into the ultimate villain, while Dirk Van Dijck (the newcomer in the main cast consisting largely of In de Gloria adepts) portrays the tormented head of department with verve. Both to the caricatural, by the way.
Especially the last two episodes are very worthwhile, with Tony Paillard (a very nice role by Luc Nuyens), the new best friend of Michel Drets. All overwrought nerves get a burst, lightning strikes and the game is grandly on the wagon, as if it has never done anything else.
