F Troop plot
Fort Courage is an old Wild West military outpost at the end of the American Civil War between 1865 and 1867. There is a town nearby that bears the same name and both are named after General Sam Courage. The outpost's senior officer is the clumsy Captain Wilton Parmenter, who is descended from a long line of military officers. He was awarded a Medal of Honor for inadvertently causing the final charge during the Battle of Appomattox. When pinning the medal, he is pricked in his chest and for that he receives a Purple Heart. In response, his superiors put him in command of the remote Fort Courage, where he and his subordinates have all sorts of adventures, including with the neighboring Native Americans.
