Göran Borg is 52 years old, divorced, and has hardly any contact with his children. At this low point, he is also fired. He doesn't have much energy, but he still lets a friend persuade him to go on a trip to India. In India, Göran befriends Yogi, a textile merchant with an occasionally insufferable, but fortunately also inexhaustible dose of optimism. At the request of Göran's friend, Yogi comes to fetch him from the miserable hotel where he lies sick, weak and nauseous, bemoaning his fate, while the rest of the tour group happily moves on. Because at some point there is a beautiful lady, Preeti Malhotra, for whom Göran feels more, he postpones his departure to Sweden.
