Third season of the hit British TV series Black Adder and probably the most fun too, thanks in part to Hugh Laurie's hilarious role as the oily-dumb Prince Regent. The rest of the cast is also excellent and the dialogues are hilarious.
Each episode is top notch, but the standouts are "Dish and Dishonesty", in which BlackAdder tries to fake the local elections and "Amy and Amiability" in which the Prince Regent falls in love with a young lady, who later turns out to be England's most wanted bandit.
The series was awarded a BAFTA award for best comedy series in 1988.

In this third season, Blackadder is at its most vicious. He is opportunistic, selfish, cynical, jealous and manipulative. The Prince Regent, son of the insane George III, is ignorant, but retains his enthusiasm despite all the blunders, insults and humiliations. For the sake of humor, the historical facts are taken for granted here and there. In reality, Pitt the Younger was forty-four when he became prime minister, and Samuel Johnson's dictionary appeared as early as 1755. Conscious anachronisms are nods to modern TV culture.
It is mainly verbal humor: ingenious one-liners, witty replies, absurd comparisons, original swear words and crazy dictionary definitions. Jane Austen's titles are parodied, as are The Scarlet Pimpernel and Cyrano de Bergerac. It's a satire on the class system. The vanity of aristocrats and actors is ridiculed. In the final episode, the reunited duo of Fry and Laurie add some physical humor. As a sitcom, this remains unparalleled.
