Child prodigy Rafal believes in living a rational life to earn praise and respect from society, without being misled by his emotions. To this end, he publicly announces his intention to study theology – the academic discipline that was highly respected in Poland in the early 15th century. However, an encounter with a mysterious man turns Rafal’s life upside down and awakens an illogical desire to focus on his passion for astronomy instead.
