A.I.C.O. Incarnation plot

In the year 2035, during a research project, an accident occurred in Japan known as the Eruption. The project revolved around an artificial life form called AICO. The area is now closed off and quarantined because of the rampant growth of synthetic organisms, aka Matter. Two years later, high school student Aiko Tachibana discovers that she may be the duplicate of a girl trapped in Matter. An enigmatic fellow student, Yuuya Kanzaki, offers to solve the mystery by taking her to the area with a group of researchers. Will they find out how the Eruption originated and what exactly created it?
