Batman plot

Rich businessman Bruce Wayne and his ward Dick Grayson lead a double life. They are actually the crime fighting duo of Batman and Robin. A secret passageway in Wayne Mansion leads to the Batcave, where Police Commissioner Gordon regularly calls for help with yet another state of emergency in Gotham City. Using the Batmobile and its many gadgets, Batman and Robin must face off against a group of super villains, including The Joker, The Riddler, Catwoman and The Penguin.

Na het uiterst succesvolle eerste seizoen, verscheen dit extra lange tweede seizoen. Met 60 afleveringen is dit één van de langste tv-seizoenen uit de geschiedenis (soapseries niet meegerekend). Een hoop schurken uit het eerste seizoen keren wederom terug. De acteur John Astin heeft hierbij de rol van The Riddler overgenomen van Frank Gorshin die om contractuele redenen niet terugkeerde voor het tweede seizoen. De rol van de bloedmooie Julie Newmar als Catwoman is aanzienlijk uitgebreid nadat zij uitgroeide tot één van de meest populaire schurken uit het eerste seizoen. Nieuwe schurken zijn o.a. Shelley Winters als Ma Parker, Vincent Price als Egghead, Liberace als Chandell en Otto Preminger als Mr. Freeze. In dit tweede seizoen werd ook de nieuwe actieserie van ABC gepromoot: The Green Hornett. In een dubbelaflevering vechten Batman en Robin zij aan zij met The Green Hornett en zijn sidekick Kato (gespeeld door de legendarische Bruce Lee). Dit tweede seizoen is wellicht nog beter dan het eerste seizoen.

After the extremely successful first season, this extra-long second season came out. With 60 episodes, this is one of the longest TV seasons in history (not counting soap operas).

A lot of villains from the first season are returning. Actor John Astin has taken over the role of The Riddler from Frank Gorshin who did not return for the second season due to contractual reasons. The stunning Julie Newmar's role as Catwoman has expanded significantly after she became one of the most popular villains of the first season. New villains include Shelley Winters as Ma Parker, Vincent Price as Egghead, Liberace as Chandelll and Otto Preminger as Mr. freeze.

This second season also promoted ABC's new action series, The Green Hornett. In a double episode, Batman and Robin fight side by side with The Green Hornett and his sidekick Kato (played by the legendary Bruce Lee). This second season is probably even better than the first season.
