When Hannah's husband suddenly disappears without a trace after a year of marriage, he just manages to smuggle a note to her with the text 'Protect her'. His wife left behind knows exactly what the note refers to: His sixteen-year-old daughter Bailey. However, Bailey wants nothing to do with her new stepmother. Despite that, they try to find the truth about the disappearance together. But as they piece together the pieces of Owen's past, they soon realize they're also building a new future.
